A note on the vacant lots in that neighborhood: You HAVE to be careful to find out if the land you're interested in is unencumbered, or if it's owned by one of the tribes out there. The native land holdings can resemble a patchwork, so do your homework. Also consider how much time you'll want to spend with gale-force, sand-laden HIGH-temperature winds in a place where daytime temps from June through October are in the 90 - 120 degree range (July-September it will cool down into the 80's at night).

You need to be a zillionaire to live there, and there's dog poo and nutty people everywhere!

Stay out of West Virginia . . . Just stay out of Appalachia altogether.

As soon as i heard Ohio river I thought nope 😂 I grew up in little Ashland ky (meets Ohio and West Virginia on the Ohio river) and I can tell you those areas are rough. My dad is still in Huntington and he tells me crazy stuff that goes on. Tons of drugs.

I would go with an older one, and have it renovated the way I want. I have seen renovated Airstreams with a washer/dryer combo, which you don't get in a brand new one. You can style it the way you want.
